Hair Care Guide

Your Investment, Protected

Hair Care Guide

Raw and virgin hair extensions can last 2–5 years with proper care — or 6 months without it. The difference is almost entirely in how you treat them. This guide covers everything you need to know to protect your investment and keep your hair looking salon-fresh install after install.

The Golden Rule

Raw and virgin hair is real human hair. Treat it the way you would treat your own hair — with moisture, gentle handling, and consistent care — and it will last for years.

Care by Texture

Each texture has different needs. Find your texture below and follow the recommendations for the best results.

Raw Vietnamese

Straight & Wavy

Washing

  • Wash every 7–14 days with a sulfate-free shampoo
  • Wash in a downward motion — never circular, which causes tangling
  • Use lukewarm water, never hot
  • Rinse thoroughly — product residue causes buildup and dullness

Conditioning

  • Deep condition every 2 weeks — focus on mid-lengths and ends
  • Use a lightweight leave-in conditioner after every wash
  • Apply a small amount of argan or jojoba oil to seal in moisture
  • Avoid silicone-based products — they coat the cuticle and cause buildup

Styling

  • Always use a heat protectant before flat iron or blow dry
  • Keep heat tools at or below 350°F — raw hair doesn't need extreme heat
  • Brush gently from ends upward using a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush
  • Avoid brushing when wet — detangle with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb only

Overnight

  • Loosely braid or wrap hair before bed to prevent tangling
  • Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase — cotton strips moisture
  • Use a satin bonnet for extra protection

Raw Vietnamese

Curly

Washing

  • Co-wash between full wash days to maintain moisture without stripping
  • Full shampoo wash every 10–14 days
  • Scrunch shampoo and conditioner in — never rub or twist
  • Rinse with cool water to help seal the cuticle and define curls

Conditioning

  • Deep condition weekly — curly textures need more moisture than straight
  • Apply curl cream or a lightweight gel to damp hair for definition
  • Use the LOC method: Leave-in → Oil → Cream to layer moisture

Styling

  • Finger-detangle only — never brush curly hair when dry
  • Scrunch and air dry for the most defined curl pattern
  • Use a diffuser on low heat if you need to speed up drying
  • Refresh curls between washes with a water and leave-in spray

Overnight

  • Pineapple curls at the crown to preserve the pattern overnight
  • Use a satin bonnet — non-negotiable for curly textures
  • Lightly mist with water in the morning and scrunch to revive

Raw Burmese

Curly

Washing

  • Wash every 7–10 days — Burmese curly craves moisture and frequent washing helps
  • Use a moisturizing sulfate-free shampoo
  • Detangle gently with fingers before washing, not after
  • Always rinse in cool water to lock in moisture and definition

Conditioning

  • Deep condition every wash — Burmese hair is thicker and needs consistent moisture
  • Hot oil treatments monthly help maintain softness and elasticity
  • Use a heavier curl cream or butter for the tighter curl pattern

Styling

  • Wear in its natural state — no heat required for a stunning result
  • Stretch with a blow dryer and diffuser for a looser, fuller look
  • Avoid brushing dry — always detangle when wet with conditioner
  • Apply a defining cream while hair is soaking wet for the best curl formation

Overnight

  • Pineapple at the crown and secure loosely with a satin scrunchie
  • Satin bonnet is essential — friction destroys the curl pattern over time
  • Refresh with water and curl cream in the morning, scrunch and go

Virgin Hair

Brazilian Body Wave, Deep Wave & Straight

Washing & Conditioning

  • Wash every 7–14 days with sulfate-free shampoo
  • Deep condition every 2 weeks
  • Use a lightweight leave-in after every wash
  • Avoid clarifying shampoos more than once a month

Styling & Maintenance

  • Always use heat protectant before styling
  • For body wave and deep wave textures, avoid brushing when dry — use a wide-tooth comb on wet hair only
  • To restore the wave pattern after washing, scrunch with a microfiber towel and air dry
  • Store unused bundles in a cool, dry place in a zip-lock bag

Your Daily Routine

☀️

Morning

Lightly mist with water or a refreshing spray. Gently reshape your style. Apply a small amount of serum or oil to ends if dry.

🛡

Styling

If using heat, apply protectant first. Keep manipulation minimal — the less you style, the longer your hair lasts.

💧

Midday

Check your ends — if they feel dry, apply a tiny amount of oil. Avoid touching your hair unnecessarily; the oils on your hands transfer to the hair and attract dust.

🌙

Night

Wrap, braid, or pineapple depending on your texture. Satin bonnet always. Remove your wig if wearing one — giving your scalp time to breathe overnight is ideal.

Weekly Care Essentials

Every 7–14 days

Wash Day

Use a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo. Wash in sections if wearing a sew-in. Focus shampoo on the scalp and let it rinse through the lengths. Follow immediately with conditioner — never skip this step.

Every wash

Deep Conditioning

Apply deep conditioner from roots to ends, cover with a plastic cap, and leave for 15–30 minutes. Rinse with cool water. For raw hair this is the single most impactful maintenance step you can take.

As needed

Detangling

Always detangle when wet with conditioner in the hair. Start from the ends and work upward. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers — never a fine-tooth comb or brush on wet hair.

Monthly

Clarify

Once a month use a gentle clarifying shampoo to remove product buildup that regular shampoo leaves behind. Follow with a deep conditioning treatment — clarifying opens the cuticle so it needs to be resealed with moisture.

Caring for Your Lace Wig

Glueless lace wigs need the same care as extensions, plus a few wig-specific steps to keep the lace, cap, and unit looking fresh.

Washing your wig

Remove the wig and wash on a wig stand or mannequin head. Never wash while wearing — water pressure can stretch the cap. Gently work shampoo through and rinse in a downward motion.

Lace care

Clean the lace with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol after each wear to remove adhesive residue, oils, and makeup. Never pull or stretch the lace — it damages the knots.

Storage

Store your wig on a wig stand to maintain the shape. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources. For long-term storage, place in a silk bag or box to prevent dust and tangling.

What to Avoid

  • Sulfate shampoos — they strip moisture from the cuticle
  • Silicone-based products — they coat the hair and cause buildup
  • Brushing dry curly or wavy hair — causes frizz and breakage
  • High heat without a protectant — weakens the hair shaft over time
  • Cotton pillowcases — friction causes tangles and dryness
  • Skipping deep conditioning — the single biggest maintenance mistake
  • Sleeping in your wig without wrapping — cap stretches, lace wears faster
  • Chlorine without protection — bleaches and dries the hair shaft
